I love this pond, the life it sustains.
Fawns and wolves,
Eagles and field mice drink
Deeply its crisp refreshing waters.
Frogs and fish make homes here,
Turtles and dragonflies pass by.
Sun rays shimmer atop delicate waves,
Wind and water join in harmony,
A soothing melody.
Wild daisies dance as lily pads sway,
I view my reflection encompassed by beauty.
Of this I am certain:
It is here I belong.
No other place is my refuge
Nor could provide this bliss.
My heart, captivated by vitality,
Is drawn to love this pond, this moment
More than any yet to come.
Here I remain, my desires fulfilled.
Each day new glories, new mysteries revealed
Affirm my conviction:
Truly this is my home.
Change is exciting, thrilling at first.
Time unveils doubt; questions interrupt enjoyment.
I find myself longing, lacking
As I reminisce.
Frogs are now hidden; daisies long since dried up.
Colors have faded. Clouds restrain the sun,
Its arms no longer extend protection
To this pond and I.
Stubborn, I stand firmly, even fiercely,
Clinging to my dreams, dedicated to my hope.
Alone and exposed, elements abuse my ignorance.
Music ceases; life withdraws from around me.
What I perceived as water is nothing but ice.
